On May 12, 2010, Porsche introduced the RS version of the GT2 limited to 500 units. The car received a revised twin-turbo boxer engine with 620 hp and is to this day the most powerful manual road car ever produced by Porsche. Thanks to the use of carbon, lightweight glass, a single-mass flywheel and other weight reducing measures, the curb weight came down to 1370 kg.
